The highlights are the landscapes of Dallol, which give you the feeling of being on another planet, and the ascent of the Erta Ale volcano with a night on the crater rim overlooking one of the few permanent lava lakes in the world.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1
Semera - Erta Ale
In the morning fly Addis to Semera, once you landed in Semera Airport you will be picked up by your friendly guide, drive to Dodom, the base camp for trekking up Erta Ale. Have an early dinner around 5PM before starting the ascent at 8PM. Camels will transport all the camping materials and food to the top. Spend the night atop the volcano.

Day 2
Erta Ale - Hamed Ela
After a spectacular sunrise over the lava lake we start our descent down to the vehicles from where we will continue to Hamed Ela. Hamed Ela is just a collection of a few simple huts located at the end of the world. And it gets pretty hot here! In the late afternoon we drive out from Hamed Ela to Lake Assal. Here we can not only admire the traditional way of local salt mining, but hopefully also meet one of the camel caravans that transport the salt blocks to the Ethiopian highlands. The sunset over the Salt Lake is another unforgettable experience. Let afternoon drive back to Hamed Ela for overnight.

Day 3
Hamed Ela - Dallol
Morning tour Drive to Ragad (Asebo), the place where the localities are mining salt. 1,200 km2 (460 sq mi) the Afar Depression is covered by salt, and salt Look the activity of breaking the salt from the ground, local people are cutting in to rectangular pieces and loading on camels. Afdera salt lake - Semera - Addis Ababa
After an early breakfast, swimming on the salt lake and enjoy the hot spring near the lake, we proceed the drive to Semera to catch a late (4pm)flight back to Addis.
